Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how RoomScanner 3D ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our iOS application.
By using RoomScanner 3D, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Overview
RoomScanner 3D is a room scanning and floor-plan app. Most of your data — including scans, floor plans, 3D models, measurements, and furniture layouts — is stored locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account.
We use third-party services (Google Firebase) only for anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting to improve app stability and features.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you use the App, you may create and store:
- Project names you enter for room scans
- Room scan results (3D models, floor plan images, geometry data)
- AR measurements (distance, area, level readings)
- Furniture layout data
- Exported files (PDF, DXF, SVG, USDZ) that you choose to share
This information is saved on your device unless you explicitly share it through the iOS Share Sheet or other system features.
2.2 Camera and Sensor Data
RoomScanner 3D requires access to your device camera and LiDAR/ARKit sensors to:
- Scan rooms using Apple RoomPlan
- Perform AR measurements
- Place furniture in augmented reality
Camera and sensor data are processed on your device to generate scans and measurements. We do not upload live camera video or raw sensor streams to our servers.
2.3 Automatically Collected Usage Data (Firebase Analytics)
If Firebase is configured in your build of the App, we collect anonymous usage analytics, such as:
- Screens you visit within the App (e.g., home, scan, projects, measure)
- Feature usage events (e.g., scan completed, project exported, floor plan edited, furniture layout saved, onboarding completed)
- Non-identifying technical parameters (e.g., export format, export preset, approximate room area in square meters, furniture item count, preview mode, error category)
We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location through the App’s analytics.
Firebase Analytics may also collect standard device and app information as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
2.4 Crash and Diagnostic Data (Firebase Crashlytics)
If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled, the App automatically collects crash reports and diagnostic information when the App fails, such as:
- Crash stack traces and error logs
- Device model, operating system version, and App version
- App state at the time of a crash
This data helps us identify and fix bugs. Crashlytics data is processed by Google as a service provider.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide core App functionality (scanning, floor plans, measurements, exports)
- Save and display your projects on your device
- Understand how features are used so we can improve the App
- Diagnose crashes and technical issues
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
We do not use your room scans or floor plans for advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage and Retention
4.1 Local Storage
Your projects and related files are stored locally using:
- SwiftData (project metadata and measurements)
- On-device file storage (USDZ models, floor plan images, geometry JSON, furniture layouts)
You can delete individual projects within the App or remove all App data by deleting the App from your device.
4.2 Analytics and Crash Data
Analytics and crash data are retained according to Google Firebase retention policies. You can learn more at Firebase Data Processing and Security.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited technical data with:
- Google LLC (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics) — for analytics and crash reporting, under their terms and privacy policies
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.
When you use the iOS Share Sheet or export files, you choose where data is sent (e.g., email, cloud storage, messaging apps). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

The App integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy practices:

7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing.
On your device:
- Delete projects within the App
- Revoke camera permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
- Delete all App data by uninstalling the App
Analytics and crash reporting:
- On iOS, you can limit ad tracking and analytics-related device identifiers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Firebase may still collect certain diagnostic and crash data necessary for app stability
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may contact us to exercise applicable privacy rights (see Section 12).
8. Children’s Privacy
RoomScanner 3D is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
If you use the App outside the country where our service providers operate, your information (such as analytics and crash data) may be transferred to and processed in countries including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Google Firebase provides appropriate safeguards as described in their documentation.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any files you export or share.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Apple App Store Privacy Summary
For transparency, the App’s data practices align with the following App Store privacy categories:
- Data linked to you: None intentionally collected by us for account or identity purposes
- Data used to track you: We do not use App data for cross-app tracking
- Data collected for analytics: Usage data (via Firebase Analytics)
- Data collected for app functionality: Camera access (processed on device; not uploaded to our servers)

Room scan content, floor plans, and 3D models remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
