Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Vocela iOS app (“Vocela”, “the app”) handles information. Vocela is an English speaking-practice app. It includes the iPhone app, the Apple Watch companion, and the Watch widget that ship inside the same iOS app. The bundle identifier is com.vocela.ios.
Vocela does not run its own account system or its own servers for your learning data. The developer does not sell personal information and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.
Information the app handles
Learning data you create. This can include your level, learning goal, daily goal, streak, scores, vocabulary, mistakes, lesson plans, conversation transcripts, achievements, challenges, weekly progress, speaking metrics, and pronunciation results. It is stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available, the same data syncs through your private iCloud database (iCloud.com.vocela.ios) using CloudKit. That database belongs to your Apple ID. The Vocela developer cannot read it. Apple stores it under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Microphone and speech. The microphone is used only when you choose to practice speaking. Speech is transcribed on your device with Apple’s on-device speech tools. The app keeps the transcript and practice scores. It does not save the audio recording and does not upload audio to the developer.
Camera. The camera is used only when you scan printed or on-screen English text to add words. Apple’s Vision text recognition runs on your device. Photos are not uploaded to the developer and are not added to a photo library by the app.
Apple Intelligence. When Apple Intelligence is available, coaching and answer checks use Apple’s on-device language model. The exercise and your answer are processed on the device for that check. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Vocela uses an on-device fallback. In either case, your answer is not sent to the Vocela developer.
Purchases. Vocela Pro (monthly and yearly) is sold by Apple through StoreKit. Apple processes payment. The app does not receive your card number, billing address, or Apple ID password. It only reads, on your device, whether the subscription is active. Purchases are covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Apple Watch. The iPhone can send a practice snapshot to your paired Apple Watch, such as streak, XP, due words, and short practice results. This uses Apple’s connection between your own devices. It is not sent to the developer.
What Vocela does not collect
- No Vocela account, and no name, email, or phone number is required to use the app.
- No advertising identifier and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No precise location, contacts, or Health data.
- No third-party analytics.
Support messages
If you email dimasenchikhin@gmail.com, the developer receives the address you write from and whatever you put in the message. That information is used only to answer you and is kept only as long as needed for that conversation.
Children
Vocela is not directed at children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information to the support email, write to that address and ask for it to be deleted.
Retention and deletion
Learning data stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud database. Delete the app to remove the on-device copy. To remove the iCloud copy, use iOS Settings for your Apple ID and iCloud storage, or turn off iCloud for Vocela. Those controls are provided by Apple. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Because the developer does not receive your learning data, there is usually no copy the developer can export or delete. For a support email, you can ask the developer to delete that correspondence.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain uses. For learning data stored only on your device and in your private iCloud, use the controls above. For information sent to the support email, contact dimasenchikhin@gmail.com.
Changes
This policy may be updated. The date at the top will change when it is. The current version is always the one published at this page.
